My daughter and I went out to the fabric store, looking for the materials for her next cosplay and while we were there we also looked around for some fabric that would make nice curtains.
The curtains that I wanted to get from the store was $68.99 a curtain and I needed four so that meant I would have spent approximately  $275.96+tax which is too much for me.
My daughter ended up picking this one out and showed me, and I thought it was beautiful fabric. I liked it and  I liked it even more when I checked the price, it was $3.00 a meter from the clearance sale section. So, we got it.  Then, we also came across grommets, we got them thinking it would give the curtains a nice finished look.
This was my first time making curtains using grommets, and I was surprised you didn't need any tools to assemble them, the lady working there showed me how to do it and now I would like to show you!

All you need:

Décor fabric of your choice
Grommets
Scissors
Pen or Marker
Pins
Iron
Tape measure
Thread
Sewing machine

First you need to decide how long you want your curtains to be. Mine was  54" x 104" included the hem at the top and the bottom. I folded my fabric in half lengthwise for easy cutting.

I hemmed the sides first. I folded it 1/2- inch twice and ironed over it.

Next, for the top of the curtain I folded 4-inches twice, ironed it down and stitched straight. I hemmed the bottom of my curtain the same method as the top but just by 3-inches.

Evenly spread your rings across the top part of your curtain, I used one pack (8 pcs.) for each curtain (54" wide).

I placed each ring an inch  down from the top of my curtain.

Some of the grommet packages come with a little plastic template, but the grommet that I got don't have a template, so I just used one half of the grommet (the bigger circle without the studs).

Trace a circle using the inside of your grommet, then cut out the circle you just traced with sharp scissors.

Then, putting one half on either side of the hole (with the studs first, smaller circle), and snap into place using the other side of the grommet.
Using your palm, apply pressure completely around the ring. Make sure the grommet snaps.

Now you're basically done, all that's left is to hang up them up! Sit back, relax and admire your new curtains!

Here's what it costs me to make this project:

10 meters of fabric for $3 a meter (clearance sale), altogether was $30.
Four packages of Grommets, (was on sale for 40% off, originally price was $9.99 a pack). So, I got them for only $5.99 a pack, altogether was $23.96 for four packages.

So, $30 + $23.96 = $53.96 + tax(four curtains)

Store-bought curtains, $275.96 + tax(four curtains)

I saved at least $222.00 dollars

Yay, for saving a lot of money.

Once again, I hope you enjoy this tutorial and thank you for stopping by.

Happy sewing!
